Overview

The NATED Educare qualification is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and contributing to early childhood development. This programme equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to provide quality care, education, and support in early childhood environments.

The qualification is completed in stages (N4–N6), followed by practical workplace training, culminating in a National Diploma in Educare. Graduates are prepared to work confidently in daycare centres, early learning facilities, and childcare environments.

Course Summary

There are four course levels for this programme.
 

1. Course Level: NQF Level 5 (N4)

The Educare N4 National Certificate is the entry-level qualification in the Educare programme. It provides learners with foundational knowledge and essential skills required to begin a career in early childhood education and care.

Examinations

Each subject includes:

  • Internal Examination
  • External Examination

2. Course Level: NQF Level 5 (N5)

The Educare N5 National Certificate builds on the knowledge gained at N4 level and introduces learners to more advanced concepts in education, psychology, and communication within early childhood settings.

4. Course Level: NQF Level 6 (National Diploma)
